A stunning snap capturing a jolly seal off the Norfolk coast will soon arrive in thousands of homes nationwide.

The photo was taken by teacher and amateur photographer Ursula Armstrong on a trip to Horsey last summer.

Titled 'Seal of Approval', the 36-year-old from London was one of around 22,000 people who submitted a picture to the 2025 Countryfile calendar competition.

After being whittled down by the judges a select few are put forward to a public vote in which the Norfolk seal came out top.

The win means not only will the photo appear in November, it will also take pride of place on the front cover.

The calendar costs £10.99 including postage with the money raised going to charity - last year it raised more than £2.3m for Children in Need.

The stretch of coast at Horsey is an important breeding ground for the Atlantic grey seal colony, with 3,632 pups recorded in an official count in January.

Ms Armstrong used a long lens to avoid frightening the colony with seal-spotters advised to keep a good distance of around 200m.
