A jury has been sworn in to try the case of a man accused of murdering a woman in a Norfolk town earlier this year.
Six men and eight women were empanelled at Norwich Crown Court ahead of the trial of Adam Barnard, 41, who has been accused of the murder of Tara Kershaw.
The 33-year-old's body was found at a property in Princes Road, Great Yarmouth, just after 9am on January 20 this year.
Police had received information that the body of a woman was inside the property before they went to the address.
A Home Office post-mortem examination has been conducted with initial findings showing the death was consistent with compression to the neck.
Barnard, of Princes Road, Yarmouth, who has also denied manslaughter, appeared at court on Wednesday for the start of his trial - expected to last three to four weeks - wearing a white T-shirt.
Stephen Spence appeared for the prosecution and is expected to open the case later on Thursday.
Will Carter defends Barnard.
