The fiancée of a man who was stabbed several times by two teenagers in front of their children has told a court she cannot get their two daughters' screams out of her head.
Sophie Wheeler had been out for a Mother's Day walk in Thetford with Danny Norman and their children when Mr Norman was attacked by Elvis Price, 18, and a 17-year-old who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
have gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court accused of attempted murder following the "determined and concerted" attack shortly before noon on March 10.
Price and the teenThe court has heard there was "no love lost" and a history of "tension" between the defendants and Mr Norman prior to the attack, which was partially captured on Miss Wheeler's mobile phone.
Giving evidence on Wednesday, Miss Wheeler said Mr Norman was "stabbed multiple times in front of me" in the attack after a verbal argument on Bury Road.
Giving evidence through a police recorded interview, she said: "All I remember is my children screaming - I can't get their screaming out of my head."
The attack which was "so severe" and "happened so quickly" came after Mr Norman had been walking "a bit in front" of her and the girls.
She "started to hear shouting" and began recording on her mobile phone, telling her girls to "hold each others hands and stay close to me".
She said they were "shouting" at Mr Norman who was "shouting back at them".
The jury of six men and six women heard Price kept saying “You f****ng wait, you f****ng wait” and was “smiling and smirking”.
Miss Wheeler said she had just wanted to go but as Price “started to walk towards us” got her phone out again.
She then just heard “someone running really fast” and described how the teen was "coming from nowhere"
Miss Wheeler the teenager "started stabbing Danny in the chest” before getting him in a headlock.
Price then joined in and “just started stabbing him and wouldn’t stop”.
Miss Wheeler, who was breaking down and crying in her police interview, said: “He just kept going, he wouldn’t stop…he just kept going.
“I didn't know what to do. Blood was just everywhere. I just had to protect my children.
"From just a verbal argument to that. It all happened so quickly."
She said she thought the whole incident lasted a little over 18 seconds but was "so quick and so severe".
She said Mr Norman was on his phone and the next thing the teen ran at him and "just started stabbing all in his chest, all in his heart - it was on his left side".
Miss Wheeler said she just remembered Mr Norman being "stabbed and stabbed and stabbed".
She said she saw Price pull out the knife and reset the blade "with Danny's blood on it" and "carry on".
She said the pair appeared to know what they were doing and "felt like they planned it".
The court has heard Mr Norman suffered a total of 12 stab wounds, two of which were "of the gravest concern to doctors".
Paramedics arrived and treated the victim who suffered a cardiac arrest and required "life-saving treatment" on the way to hospital.
Price, of Amulet Close, Thetford, has denied attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and having an article with a blade or point.
The 17-year-old co-defendant has denied attempted murder and causing GBH with intent.
The trial continues.
