A former museum dedicated to Norfolk's most famous naval hero could be turned into a four-bed home if plans are approved.
Officers have recommended Great Yarmouth Borough Council planners give permission for the scheme, which will breathe new life into the former Nelson Museum building in the South Quay area.
Developers want to reopen the Yare Gallery space on the ground floor, which shut down last year, as well as transform the first and second floors into a home.
The plans also include creating two artist studios in the museum courtyard.
The Grade II listed building, which forms part of the Great Yarmouth Row Houses - a collection of landmark buildings in South Quay - had housed hundreds of artefacts related to Lord Horatio Nelson.
But after 17 years, it shut in 2019 before later reopening as the Yare Gallery. However, this scheme was short-lived after funding for the project ran out, causing its closure in 2023.
The Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust, which owns the building, subsequently put it up for sale with a guide price of just under £300,000.
Councillors will vote on whether or not to approve the scheme next week.
