You might say it was one of the more eye-catching emporiums along the seafront.
But now a pink sweet shop in Hunstanton has been toned down and turned into a flat.
West Norfolk Council has agreed a retrospective planning application to convert the building, on Le Strange Terrace, into a one-bedroom apartment.

A planning statement said: "The building's former use was as Thompson’s sweet shop although following the Covid pandemic, it was not deemed financially viable to keep the business running therefore resulting in its recent closure and subsequent conversion to a flat.
"The former sweet shop had very bright signage to the west elevation which has been removed as part of the proposals."
Instead of garish pink, the building's frontage will have a window and brown cladding.
But lovers of Hunstanton rock and brandy snaps need not fear, for the business has other premises selling the seaside staples nearby.
