A man who was stabbed several times by two teenagers has described in court how one of his attackers "came from nowhere".

Danny Norman had been out for a walk in Thetford with his fiancee and two children when he was attacked by Elvis Price, 18, and a 17-year-old who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Giving evidence on Wednesday, Mr Norman, who is in his 30s, told police he and Price started arguing after they encountered each other on Bury Road, Thetford.

In the video evidence, recorded by police, Mr Norman said his fiancée, Sophie Wheeler, shouted out to him "Danny, watch out, behind you... or something like that".

This was moments before the teenage defendant ran up to him and pushed him, ahead of the "concerted" attack.

"Before I knew it, he was hitting me. All I remember is him coming and hitting me," he said.

"I didn't know I had been stabbed until they did a runner. I just felt myself. I felt blood.

"I thought it was punches, I didn't know I had been stabbed until they had both disappeared."

Mr Norman, who cannot remember much about the attack, then recalled telling his fiancée: "I don't feel very good".

He said next thing he was "on the floor" with his legs being held up by another man.

He said he remembered saying "I'm going to go to sleep now" but was told to "stay awake" by those treating him.

The jury of six men and six women have heard Mr Norman suffered a total of 12 stab wounds, two of which were "of the gravest concern to doctors".

Price, of Amulet Close, Thetford, has denied attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and having an article with a blade or point.

The 17-year-old co-defendant has denied attempted murder and causing GBH with intent.

The trial continues.
