A new defibrillator has been installed outside a pub thanks to community fundraising.

The life-saving equipment has been placed at The Hermitage on Boat Dyke Lane, Acle.

The project was led by Acle Allotment Association, which originally aimed to raise £1,000 over two years through various sales and events.

However, the target was reached within months due to local support, aided by a donation from Heart 2 Heart which covered the full cost of the device.

An official launch is set for Thursday, October 5, at midday at the pub, with all invited to attend.

A spokesperson for the Acle Allotment Association said that the life-saving equipment will be a valuable asset to both local residents and visitors alike.

Its location was carefully chosen due to the high footfall in the area.

The defibrillator is now available for use by everyone in the community.

The association has also expressed gratitude to the pub for providing the installation site and to all who contributed to the fundraising efforts.
