A couple say they are lucky to be alive after coming face to face with a car speeding the wrong way down the A47.
Amy and Jack Pellegrini from Norfolk were travelling home from Gatwick Airport and had just come on to the A47 from Thickthorn Roundabout when they saw a bright light in the distance.
Dash-cam footage shows their car overtaking a coach just before 3am on Saturday and approaching a second coach when a vehicle going the wrong way suddenly hurtles towards them.
Mrs Pellegrini, 37, who was a passenger in the car, said: “I shouted to Jack that the car was on the same side, he hadn't quite processed it himself.
"All I could see was the full bright beam of light coming at us very quickly. In my opinion, it was going above 70mph.

“I just said goodbye to my husband and shut my eyes in the brace position."
Mr Pellegrini, 33, had to make a split-second decision and somehow missed hitting the car or coach as he braked and pulled their car to the left.
"We pulled over in the next layby,” she said. “We really couldn't believe what happened, what my husband did was amazing.”
Another motorist reported seeing the car driving in the wrong direction at around 2.45am - just minutes before the near miss.

Shortly after, a second witness said they saw the car heading towards the Easton roundabout, more than six miles away.
"I thought we were dead,” Mrs Pellegrini added. “We should be dead. It’s made it worse that the person is still out there on the road."
Police are urging anyone who saw the car on the A47 or has any information to come forward.
Witnesses are asked to contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101 or via email at callum.walchester@suffolk.police.uk quoting reference NC-05102024-45.
