Asda is recalling one of its chicken products due to a mix up which means the ready meal actually contains beef and undeclared allergens.
The supermarket is recalling its Asda Chicken Dinners because the product contains milk, egg and barley not mentioned on the label.
As a result of a packaging error some of the Chicken Dinners boxes actually contain Asda Beef Dinners.
The product is therefore a risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk, egg or gluten.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is warning anyone with any of these allergies or intolerances not to eat the product, but to return it for a full refund.
The affected products come in 375g packets and have a best-before date of September 5, 2025.
An FSA spokesman said: “Asda is recalling the above product from customers. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or egg and/or barley (gluten), do not eat it.
“Instead, return the product to the nearest Asda store for a refund, with or without a receipt. For more information contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.”
What is a product recall?
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).
The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.
In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued.
This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.
