Plans for a new bungalow on a site where a water tower once stood have got the go-ahead despite objections from neighbours.

West Norfolk Council has agreed proposals for a three-bed bungalow at the corner of Lincoln Street and Cromer Road in Hunstanton.

A previous bid by a developer named in planning papers as S Curtis was turned down after concerns the house would overlook neighbouring properties.

Fresh proposals for a bungalow repositioned further from neighbours' gardens were drawn up earlier this year.

Hunstanton Town Council supported the scheme. It said: "The changes proposed have addressed all the previous objections."

A planning officer's report said: "The application has been amended over time to seek to address concerns regarding the impact on neighbour amenity to the north, the form and design of the building as well as the impact on trees to the southern boundary."

Four objections to the latest scheme we received. One said: "The existing house has a good-sized garden. If this application is permitted it will create a precedent."
