A jury has been sworn in for the trial of two teenagers accused of attempting to murder a man in Thetford.

The victim was stabbed multiple times while out for a walk with his family on Mother's Day this year.

Seven women and five men were empanelled at Norwich Crown Court ahead of the trial of Elvis Price, 18, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Norwich Crown CourtNorwich Crown Court (Image: Peter Walsh, Newsquest) Both teenagers are accused of attacking Danny Norman as he was out for a walk with his fiancee and two young daughters in Bury Road, Thetford, on March 10.

Emergency services were called after reports of a fight at about 11.50am.

Police in Thetford after stab attack in March this yearPolice in Thetford after stabbing in March this year (Image: Newsquest) Mr Norman, who is in his thirties, suffered multiple stab wounds in the incident and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge in a critical condition.

He was later released from hospital.

Price, of Amulet Close, Thetford, appeared at court on Monday (October 7) having been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and having an article with a blade or point.

The 12 jurors were sworn in for a trial, expected to last at least two weeks, in front of Judge John Ainley.

The trial is due to start on Tuesday (October 8) when Matthew Sorel-Cameron will open the case for the prosecution.
