East Norfolk Sixth Form College has been named winner of the Outstanding Support for Students award at the EDP Norfolk Education Awards 2024

Located in Gorleston-on-Sea, East Norfolk Sixth Form College is committed to providing outstanding support to its students, primarily through its learning support and wellbeing team.

The department offers both academic and emotional support within lessons and outside of class.

The judges said: “The support provided to students with external challenges and learning difficulties is fantastic. It is also brilliant to see that the college has an internal specialist SEN careers advice service to support those with additional needs.”

Dr Catherine Richards, principal of East Norfolk Sixth Form College, said: “Winning this award is a true honour but most importantly demonstrates the highest level of support for students at East Norfolk Sixth Form College.

“We place the students at the centre of all we do and are proud of the work that we do in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth and North Suffolk.”

Finalist: Kym Blake of City of Norwich School

Kym Blake has been student services manager at City of Norwich School Sixth Form for 18 years.

She epitomises the college’s values in every way, promoting equality, inclusivity and diversity, while striving to make sure every student has the opportunities to succeed.

Finalist: Norwich High School for Girls

Norwich High School for Girls has developed a comprehensive approach to support the emotional, social and psychological wellbeing of its students. 

The school’s pastoral care programme aims to build self-confidence, purpose and an understanding of each student’s personal strengths.
