A drug dealer found with thousands of pounds worth of cannabis in his car has been warned he faces prison.

Police stopped Emil Tidy, 45, as he drove his car on London Road in Attleborough on May 20 after officers spotted it speeding through the town.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told officers had been confronted with an “overwhelmingly smell” of cannabis from inside the car and had discovered 260g of drugs with a street value of more than £6,000.

Emma Pocknell, prosecuting, said police had also found scales, drug deal-style bags and a notebook containing names and details of drug deals.

A mobile phone seized from him had also included messages of drug transactions that tallied with names in the notebook, she added.

Tidy, of Ross Walk in Thetford, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply and drug driving.

Magistrates warned he faced a possible jail sentence as they ordered "all-option" reports prior to his sentencing on November 21. They also imposed an interim driving ban.

Ryan Creek, mitigating, said he had been selling to fund his own drug use and was “terrified” of being sent to prison.
