A group of men have completed their challenge of running 550km across all 55 cities in England in just 16 days.

Tom Vosper, Ben Robbins, Alex Robbins, Nathan Cooper, Jon Stanley and Sam Brooks crossed the finish line outside The Forum on Sunday evening.

Their project, dubbed Run The Cities, saw them tackle wet weather and injuries before running through their final destination in Norwich.

"It was only 16 days but it felt much longer.

"Sunday was a blur - we knew it was the home straight and having so many people turn out to run with us through Norwich was amazing."

More than 50 people joined the runners on their route, which started at Carrow Road.

All of the runs started at a football ground in memory of Tom's dad, who died from cancer in 2017.

"My dad and I were huge Torquay United fans and used to travel all over the UK watching them lose - mostly," Tom said.

"They're really special memories and one of the reasons we always started at a stadium."

While they initially set out to raise £5,000, Tom raised their target every time they met it, and the total raised stands at just shy of £15,000 - just a few thousand from their final target of £17,500.

"From people turning up to run with us to donating on our Just Giving page to hotels giving us a free night's stay and food, we have been overwhelmed."

For now, Tom hasn't got any solid plans for another gruelling challenge.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to getting into my own bed tonight.

"Maybe in a year or so I'll think about what I'll do next."
