A group of five people and their dogs became stranded after being unexpectedly cut off by high tides at one of the county's most popular beaches.
The five were on Wells beach when they became trapped by the incoming sea on Saturday afternoon, raising concern from onlookers who made a call to 999.
Peter Wilcox, the RNLI in-shore lifeboat, was scrambled to the group caught on the sandbank to the west side of the harbour entrance.

At 2.26pm a crew of three from made their way along the estuary.
With good visibility, the crew managed to locate the group who had begun attempt to wade back to the main beach.
Just four minutes later the lifeboat was at the scene and rescued the five bringing them back to the safety of land.
