A man has been made subject of a restraining order after racially abusing a neighbour and exposing himself.

Ryan Gray, 27, called his Polish neighbour a “bitch” and told her to “go back to your own country” before pulling down his shorts to expose his genitals in front of her and her school age daughter.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told his neighbour who had lived in the UK for 12 years had been left scared by the incident on May 23.

“She doesn’t know what else to expect or what he might do to her family,” said prosecutor Nicola Lamb.

Gray, of Elm Road in Thetford, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated abuse and exposure.

He also admitted twice breaching a previous three month suspended sentence by failing to attend probation appointments or fully comply with alcohol monitoring.  

He was made subject of a two year restraining order and sentenced to a 12 month community order with rehabilitation requirements.  

Deputy District Judge Claire Furlong told him: “What you did was more than unpleasant, it was horrible. Your actions were disgusting towards someone who has lived here for quite some time.”
