A man has been fined and told to pay compensation to a victim after his dog got dangerously out of control in Thetford Forest.
The case of Harry Harper, who is of Tickham Lane in Sittingbourne, in Kent, was heard before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich.
The 27-year-old was facing a charge of being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control at the beauty spot, which straddles the border between Norfolk and Suffolk.
The incident happened on October 4 last year.
According to court documents, the dog was a large black Cane Corso, named Tammy. No injuries came about as a result of the incident.
Harper pleaded guilty to the offence, and was fined £162.
He was also ordered to pay £800 in compensation.
Harper will also have to pay a surcharge towards victim services of £130 and court costs of £85.
In total, the amount Harper was ordered to pay out by magistrates came to £1,177.
