The air ambulance was called to a Norfolk high school after a student was injured during a PE lesson.
A child at Wymondham High School suffered a serious leg injury during their PE lesson on Tuesday.
A letter sent home to parents from headteacher Mr Smith at 4.30pm said: "You will, no doubt, already be aware that we had an air ambulance on site at the end of the school day today.
"This was due to a non life-threatening leg injury sustained during a PE lesson.
"The child concerned is in the safe hands of the paramedics."
The full extent of injuries is not yet known.
