Nelson's County has once again come out as one of the best places in Britain for a pint as four of its pubs have scooped a place on an illustrious list.

A team of top chefs and food critics, including Michel Roux Jr, Prue Leith and Tom Parker Bowles, have worked with the Daily Mail to curate a definitive list of "the best 100 pubs in Britain" with Norfolk making its mark.

The judges were particularly impressed with "Britain's poshest village" with pubs just two miles away from one another making for some lucky locals.

The village pub, which is also a hotel and spa, sits at the heart of Burnham Market and is an ideal place to explore one of the country's prettiest villages.

Its nearby neighbour, The Hero in Burnham-Overy-Staithe, was commended as a "laid-back retreat" great for foodies.

At the other end of the county in St Olaves lies The Bell Inn.

The last pub to reach the top 100 was The Angel in Watlington.

Located between Downham Market and King's Lynn, the pub was taken over by chef Richard Crouch and his partner Emily Phipps in September 2018.

Undergoing a full refurbishment at the start of this year, the pub wowed the judges with its "unique décor", "lively upholstery" and "original features".

Its drink selection includes new cask ales every week and more than 70 bottles on the wine list.
