Bishop’s Dining Room & Wine Bar in Norwich offers a unique dining experience characterised by intimacy, warmth and culinary excellence.
Dishes aim to exceed expectations, bursting with flavour and creativity and leaving a lasting impression.
The restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence has earned it two AA Rosette awards.
The judges praised Bishop’s warm hospitality, noting its seamless service, exceptional food and demonstrating traditional hospitality at its finest.
The team engaged guests with a friendly yet professional demeanour, reflecting the restaurant’s welcoming ambiance.
Owner Alessandro Tranquillo’s passion for Italian wines and the front of house’s confidence in the kitchen impressed the judges and created a memorable experience.
Alessandro said: “This award means a lot – to me, and to my team. I’ve wanted it so badly, and I’m so happy to have won it for me and my team."
Head chef Barry Wood added: “He’s an amazing boss and an amazing owner. He deserves this.”
Finalist: SugarBeat Eating House
SugarBeat Eating House in Swainsthorpe offers an eclectic mix of old-school favourite dishes and modern classics, together with weekly seasonal specials.
The menu includes its famous breakfasts, wholesome and tasty lunches and dinner for occasions big and small.
SugarBeat impressed with its well-organised and spotless presentation, and the judges also highlighted the amiable, welltrained staff.
Finalist: Titchwell Manor Hotel
Titchwell Manor Hotel’s restaurant holds three AA rosettes and is run by chef/owner Eric Snaith and his creative and collaborative team.
The restaurant focuses on modern British food and the ingredients used are carefully considered for every dish.
The judges noted the organised and friendly service, and with its well-curated terrace views, the restaurant offered an enjoyable North Norfolk experience.
Finalist: Wells Crab House Seafood Restaurant
A small, intimate restaurant with a relaxed and welcoming ethos, Wells Crab House is home to an enthusiastic team that cooks and serves creative dishes using local and seasonal seafood.
The dishes are often a fusion of the chefs’ travels and experiences, and the talented front of house team enhances the meals with their knowledge.
Judges admired the team’s passion for seafood and the region, and their laser-focused service made for an outstanding dining experience.
