A Norfolk events company is planning two Christmas markets inside a former Wilko store and there is free entry.

They will take place on Saturday, November 30 and Saturday, December 14 from 10am to 4pm in the empty unit along Dereham's High Street.

It has been organised by Apollo Events, who are also behind the monthly makers' market in the town.

This takes place on the last Saturday of the month along Wright's Walk.

The Dereham branch of Wilko shut in September 2023 after 18 years on the High Street when the firm went into administration.

There will be around 50 local stalls at each Christmas market alongside festive crafts and street food vendors outside.

Tom Hassey, Apollo Events founder, said: "This year, we have been given the go-ahead to take over the former Wilko shop in Dereham for two days of festive shopping.

"We believe this is a fantastic use of an unoccupied shop and it brings a unique shopping experience to the High Street."

The October makers' market will also take place inside the former Wilko store.
