Thousands of decorated plastic ducks will race through Great Yarmouth’s Waterways this weekend.

The annual Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club Duck Races returns to the town’s seafront this Sunday and here is everything you need to know.

When and where is it?

On Sunday, September 22, six duck races will take place at Great Yarmouth Waterways, located on the seafront just north of the town’s Golden Mile.

There will be three heats of the sponsored duck race and a grand final. 

The first heat will start at 1pm, followed by the second at 1.30pm.

The first public race begins at 2pm. The third heat of the sponsored race will get under way at 2.30pm, before the second public race at 3pm.

The final of the sponsored race will take place at around 3.30pm.

How do you take part?

You can buy a duck for £1 on the day to take part in the public race.

What is the event for?

The event is organised by the Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club and raises money for a variety of local charities and good causes.

The event is sponsored and printed by SPP Digital and pumps for the waterways have been supplied by Selwood Pumps.

Will there be prizes?

For both public races, first place will take home £200, with the runner-up winning £100, and third £50.

The overall winner of the sponsored race will win £500.
