A beloved café in north Norfolk is opening once again under new owners.

Taylor's Café, on Oak Street in Fakenham, will be reopening its doors on Monday, September 23, after closing in early August.

The café was opened in 2018 by Taylor James who served as the venue's manager until May of this year.

It was then run by Adrian Earl.

Father and son duo James and Garry Platten will be the third owners of Taylor's Café.

James Platten, 39, said: "We are very excited to be taking over from Adrian Earl, who himself took over from Taylor.

"I've been speaking with Taylor as well who has been a great source of support as we get ready to open."

This will be the first business venture the father and son duo undertake together.

James Platten was a caterer and hospitality professional previously while his father spent 50 years in sales and finance.

He said: "Taylor's is the loveliest café and has lots of cosy nooks, which is what customers love it for.

"We've tried really hard to keep as much of the original atmosphere as possible and I want to assure customers that we'll be delivering the same Taylor's experience."

In addition to a bit of decorating, customers can also look forward to a new menu as well as a loyalty card scheme called Taylor's Café Club.

James said: "The café has such a loyal local following and so many customers really enjoyed what Taylor James had created.

"So we're introducing a loyalty scheme for those who make regular stops to the café as a thank you to everyone who continues to support us.

"We're both really excited to get Taylor's open on Monday."

Angela Glynn, Fakenham's town mayor said: "So many people will be pleased to see Taylors back in action and we wish the new owners every success in their new venture."
