A 46-year-old Crohn’s disease sufferer died at her Norfolk home from dehydration, a court has heard.

The body of Jennifer Chapman, of Daffy Green in Shipdham, near Dereham, was discovered on August 22 last year. 

Her father, Robert Chapman, identified her body to PC Martin Fisher of Norfolk Police

An inquest opening into her death took place at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, based at County Hall in Norwich

The county’s senior coroner, Jacqueline Lake, read out brief details to the court. 

The primary medical cause of death was given as “dehydration”. The court also heard that she was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel condition, Crohn's disease.

High levels of antidepressant medication was given as a contributing factor. 

A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place next year.
