Entries are now open for awards celebrating the vibrancy, invention and collaboration across the energy industry in the East of England.
Game-changing solutions to industry challenges, inspiring people and contributions to developing a skilled workforce across offshore and onshore energy technologies will be showcased in the East of England Energy Group’s (EEEGR) annual gala End of Year Awards at Dunston Hall, near Norwich, on December 5.
Businesses have two months to enter organisations, companies and individuals who stand out for their work across all energy sectors – in offshore wind, nuclear, oil and gas, geothermal, solar and ports.
This year, there are 10 award categories, including three new awards: Apprentice Employer of the Year, Positive Impact in the Community and STEM Educator.
Other categories are: Going Green, Innovation, One to Watch, Outstanding Contribution to Skills for Energy, Rising Star, Young Person of the Year and EEEGR Member of the Year.
Sponsors have already signed up to sponsor categories, including OPITO for the STEM Educator Award.
EEEGR is also seeking sponsors for categories, which are open for entries from EEEGR members and non-members.
Kevin Keable, EEEGR chair, said the East of England was unique for the variety of energy sources and technology in the region, and for how they interact.
“The east of England energy sector is a beacon of brilliance across all sectors. It is full of companies inventing, innovating, adapting and delivering fantastic services for projects across the UK and the globe.
“Inside those businesses are people so inspiring and ingenious for the difference they make at work and who deserve special recognition.
“The beauty of our awards is that they offer the chance to those businesses and people to be highlighted to their peers and colleagues and be publicly acknowledged for the tremendous work they do to push the industry forward and for going above and beyond to make change.”
Applications will be judged and shortlisted by an independent panel. The final decision on the winner will be made by the category sponsor.
Double award winner Karl Farrow, founder of geothermal developer Ceraphi, which scooped the One to Watch award in 2023 and the Innovation award in 2022, said: “We were thrilled to receive the EEEGR Innovation Award in 2022, recognising CeraPhiWell™ as the industry’s standout technology.
“The award marked a pivotal moment for CeraPhi Energy. 2023 was the year we embarked on ground-breaking projects. The recognition not only celebrated our achievements but also signalled our commitment to pushing the boundaries of geothermal energy solutions and validated our position at the forefront of geothermal innovation.”
Deadline for entries is October 31.
