A roadside pub which has been on the market for more than a year could become a home.
The Jolly Brewers beside the A134 at Shouldham Thorpe, near King's Lynn, has been on the market since it closed more than 18 months ago.
Agents have it listed for sale for £275,000, describing it as "a busy A-road pub and restaurant with five letting rooms".
Now West Norfolk Council has received a notification for prior approval to turn it into a house.
Notifications are used by developers to determine whether planning permission is needed before embarking on the formal process.
The pub, whose restaurant and bar could seat more than 100 diners, has closed a number of times in recent years before reopening under new management, most recently in 2018.
It is close to the village of Shouldham, where locals mounted a successful campaign to buy the King's Arms after it closed down, before reopening it 10 years ago.
