A local business owner is returning to her roots and rolling out a jewellery collection.

Lucy Raff ran Lucent Jewellery Studios from Norwich for 20 years but was forced to close it in 2023 due to rising costs.

A few months later, she moved to Beccles and launched her new venture, Tulastra Studio, selling quirky graphic design prints and homeware products online.

"Everything has been going really well and I love what I do but I reached a point where I was just really missing jewellery design," Mrs Raff said.

"Lucent was such a huge part of my life and it was so strange to suddenly not have it anymore.

"My husband could tell how I felt and said 'why not introduce jewellery to Tulastra?' - so I took his idea and just ran with it."

As well as running the graphic design side of the business, Mrs Raff plans to drop one limited jewellery collection per month, with each centring around a creative theme.

The first collection will be available to purchase from September 20 and will be inspired by celestial bodies.

"I have a degree in astronomy and astrophysics, and the stars and the universe have a really important place in my life," Mrs Raff said.

"I love that so many people have an affinity with the stars and moon and they carry a lot of symbolism that resonates with people.

"I want all of my jewellery to have this personality and meaning.

"The slogan I used for Lucent was 'jewellery with a story to tell' which I still love and hope to carry through into my future work."

The jewellery will be priced between £15 and £40 and the next print line will be released on September 27.
