The city's latest yoga and wellness studio has had a hit opening weekend - with more than 100 people flocking to classes.

Yantra Studio opened on Saturday in Netherconesford in King Street.

Across the weekend 11 sold-out classes were hosted at the studio, all of which had waitlists.

Studio owner Abby Hoffman said: "I am exhausted but it has been brilliant.

"All of our classes were fully booked with a waiting list and it has been pandemonium.

"This week's classes are booked out as well!

"I can't believe it.

"Thank you so much for coming and for supporting us.

"A big thanks goes to my partner Chris, who has made this whole thing possible."

Yantra has opened in the former New Museum of Contemporary Art, which was home to Jaevee Homes and Broadland Housing after architect Andrew Gibbs spent millions revamping the area in the mid-2000s.

The studio is open every day and has a range of wellness classes on offer, including yoga, pilates and barre.
