A motorcyclist who died in hospital following a crash with a lorry has been named after his inquest opened.
Alan Baker was involved in a crash with a lorry while riding his Triumph motorcycle on Muck Lane in Rackheath, on Wednesday, August 7.
The crash happened at around 12.40pm and saw Mr Baker taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Two-and-a-half weeks later, on Sunday, August 25, he died in hospital at the age of 67.
On Friday, an inquest into his death opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court.
During a short hearing, senior coroner Jacqueline Lake confirmed Mr Baker, of Pennyroyal in Catton, was a retired gearbox fitter and died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
She said that the medical cause of his death was traumatic chest, pelvis and leg injuries as a result of a road traffic collision.
Mrs Lake added that ischemic heart disease and type-two diabetes had also been listed as contributing factors.
Mrs Lake adjourned the inquest for a preliminary hearing, which is due to be held on December 9.
