Plans have been lodged to build 21 homes on farmland in a Norfolk village.

The applicant, Matt Legrys, owns the land just off Hall Road in Winfarthing, near Diss, where the development would be built if approved.

The documents state that, should the South Norfolk Council approve the application, seven of the proposed 21 homes that would be built will be for "affordable housing".

The applicant addresses this and says that the development would "ensure the long-term viability" of community facilities, such as the Fighting Cocks Inn pub, All Saints Primary School in Winfarthing and both the Winfarthing and the Shelfanger Village Halls.

In terms of design, the papers submitted say they will be "in keeping with existing house designs", there will also be trees and hedges planted around the perimeter of the site.

The applicant says the site "effectively infills between Chapel Close on the South, and Winfarthing Village Hall on the North" and will have a "minimal" impact on existing homes.
