A man has been charged after an assault in Norwich.
Police were called to London Street just after 1am on Thursday following reports a man had been assaulted.
The victim sustained injuries to his face and head and was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and was later arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
Brian McCadie, 40, of no fixed abode, was charged with assault and assault on an emergency worker.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court this morning.
