A new bike servicing workshop is celebrating its opening in Norwich.

Bicycle servicing company Fettle opened its new workshop in Prince of Wales Road earlier this week, just a stone's throw away from the train station.

The workshop is located alongside the car servicing company Kwik Fit.

The owners are celebrating their first week in business with free bike safety checks, coffee and sweet treats this Saturday.

The new workshop comes after a survey revealed that one in five, 19pc, of adults in the East of England want to switch from driving to other types of travel, such as cycling, for shorter journeys.

The owners hope the workshop will help encourage locals to cycle more and drive less.

Fettle prides itself on its provision of 'faff-free' repairs and servicing, focusing on an innovative, tech-led approach and transparent servicing options, such as a full bicycle MOT.

All services can be booked online, and bikes can be collected and delivered as required.

Sam Olszak, workshop manager at the Prince of Wales Road store, said:  “I’ve been cycling around Norwich and the wider region for more than 15 years.

"Norwich is a great city for cycling, and we’re here to help anyone and everyone, whatever type of cycling they’re doing.

"Whether they are digging a once forgotten bike out of the garden shed or planning a long-distance cycling tour, we’ve got a service that will help get the best out of their bicycle.”
