Stowen, an offshore project management and construction company based in Norfolk, has launched a new scaffolding services division.

The newly formed division is led by Cameron Silom, technical director of Stowen Scaffolding and Access Ltd, who has extensive experience in the management of scaffolding businesses.

Cameron’s leadership, combined with Stowen’s existing expertise, positions the company as a leading provider of comprehensive scaffolding solutions offshore.

Building on a strong onshore foundation for the provision of scaffolding solutions, Stowen is now upskilling a cohort of personnel through group training company Hexis.

The strategic initiative is designed to equip the scaffolding teams to excel in additional industries, supported by senior offshore scaffold supervisors. By doing so, Stowen is enhancing its service offerings and ensuring the workforce is equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to meet the unique challenges of emerging markets.

“At Stowen group, we understand the unique challenges and demands of a single supplier within projects,” said Cameron Silom. “The addition of this new division allows us to better support our clients in the construction phase of offshore wind projects, and at times during the operational period.”

Sector-specific solutions

The versatility of Stowen’s scaffold division allows it to cater to the specific needs of various sectors.

In addition to its scaffolding expertise and understanding the complexities and specific requirements of various projects, the team ensures that every scaffolding solution is designed and executed with precision.

Stowen Group offers a range of services from construction and operational maintenance to decommissioning in sectors such as oil and gas and offshore renewables.

“By integrating these additional services with our scaffolding solutions, we ensure that our clients receive a comprehensive package tailored to their specific requirements,” said Kieron Ford, renewables managing director.

“We often see scaffolding in the construction phase of offshore wind, especially on offshore substations. The addition of this division is strategic in its offering as a package with other services offered by Stowen Group.”

Planning for future growth

Stowen Group is strategically leveraging the expertise of newly formed Stowen Scaffolding and Access company alongside its sister company, Hexis Training, to enhance service quality in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors.

Stowen Scaffolding and Access brings specialised knowledge in scaffolding and access solutions, ensuring safe and efficient project execution.

Hexis Training will complement this by providing comprehensive training programmes, equipping personnel with the necessary skills and certifications required for offshore operations.

This synergy allows Stowen Group to offer a robust pipeline of highly trained, competent personnel and expert consultancy services, as seen previously by the group’s ethos within offshore wind statutory inspection services.

By integrating practical field expertise with rigorous training standards, Stowen Group ensures that its workforce is not only well-prepared but also adheres to the highest safety and operational standards.

The holistic approach enhances project efficiency, safety and quality, reinforcing the group’s commitment to excellence in offshore energy sectors.
