A museum in a Suffolk market town has now reopened after being closed for longer than a month due to "unforeseen circumstances".

Beccles and District Museum announced its sudden opening on social media and has confirmed that it is "back up and running".

Margaret Johnson, one of the volunteers, said: "We are glad it's reopened."

The museum announced its temporary closure at the end of July due to "unforeseen circumstances".

It had originally hoped to reopen in August.
