Hundreds of homes have been left cut off after being struck by a power outage this morning.

The power cut was affecting more than 660 homes in areas on Norfolk's east coast, including Hemsby, Winterton-on-Sea and Martham.

UK Power Networks became aware of the issues at 6.20am and quickly despatched engineers to the scene to investigate.

Initially, engineers found the fault to have disrupted 1,500 homes however they were able to limit the disruption to around 600 properties for much of the time.

They believe the issue to be due to a "high voltage overhead electricity line fault".

The issue was resolved and power reconnected shortly before 9.45am.
