Woodforde's Ale Trail is returning to Norfolk with more than 100 pubs taking part locally - including 15 in Norwich.

The trail begins next week, offering punters the chance to win prizes by collecting stickers when they buy a pint of Woodforde's in participating pubs.

The Norfolk brewery, based in Woodbastwick, has also unveiled a new beer to tie in with the celebrations, called Trail Ale.

Prizes include Woodforde's merchandise and beer, and those that reach 72 stickers will be entered into a draw to win a bespoke Woodforde's experience.

These experiences include a Woodforde's Brewery tour and tasting session for two, and a meal and pint at the Fur and Feathers in Woodbastwick - also for two.

Other prizes in the draw are a limited edition personalised case of beer and a glass, and the chance to book an event for up to ten people at Woodforde's new visitors centre.

James Ramm, head of sales at Woodforde’s, said he “can’t wait” for the trail to get under way.

“The Ale Trail has been a beloved staple of our events calendar and it is always great to see so much excitement surrounding its return," he said.

“We’ve got hundreds of pubs already signed up and this year’s event will prove a brilliant opportunity for punters to try out some of our new beers.

“That includes Trail Ale, our new 4.3pc traditional ale brewed exclusively using UK hops like Olicana, Progress and Challenger.”

More than 200 pubs across the country will be involved in the trail, and previous trails have seen more than 750,000 pints sold nationwide.

The Ale Trail will also kick off with a beer festival at Woodforde’s brewery tap, The Fur and Feather in Woodbastwick, running from Friday, September 6, to Saturday, September 7.

The Ale Trail will conclude on November 17.
