From roadworks on the A11 to new opening hours at Papa Johns in Norwich, here are five public notices to be aware of in Norfolk this week.

1. Bawburgh Road in Easton

Bawburgh Road in Easton will be closed from September 2 as Norfolk County Council carries out roadworks that will cost £99,350.

The project will see the road widened to fulfil a planning condition of the development of Bridge Easton School.

The road will be closed between Easton Bridge School and Easton Gymnastics Club until September 20.

Access to the school will be diverted to the northern end of Bawburgh Road and people can gain entry to the gymnastics club from the south.

2. London Road in Wymondham

A section of old worn-out road is to be replaced on London Road in Wymondham, starting on the evening of September 9.

The work is estimated to cost £153,000 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council's Infrastructure Department and its contractors.

The road will be temporarily closed between 7.00pm and 6.00am every night until the work is finished, which is anticipated to take up to five nights.

The council says the resurfacing will give vehicles an “improved quality of ride” and “reduce the maintenance costs associated with older, deteriorated road surfaces”.

3. Costa Coffee and Wendy's

Two new drive-throughs will soon be coming to the Norwich area.

Costa Coffee is set to open a site on Morse Road, off Cromer Road near the NDR at Hellesdon.

The cafe chain will be joined by American fast-food giant Wendy's, which serves a range of burgers, sandwiches and milkshakes.

Both eateries were given the green light by Broadland District Council.

When built, the site will have nearly 70 parking spaces, 10 of which will be for electric vehicles and bike racks, and Wendy's will have a large outdoor seating area at the edge of the car park.

4. Norwich Papa Johns

A takeaway giant has launched another bid to extend its opening hours after its previous application was denied amid objections from neighbours.

Papa Johns in Colman Road has re-submitted plans to stay open until 4am after a recent hearing by the licencing team granted it permission to operate until this time.

This ruling paved the way for the firm to make another application to Norwich City Council, despite the authority turning down its original request last year.

Those wishing to comment on the application have until September 17 with an internal recommendation date by the case officer of October 22.

 5. A11 closures

National Highways is repairing the concrete road surface between the Thickthorn roundabout near Norwich and Tuttles Lane at Wymondham.

The project, estimated to cost £3.5 million, requires this stretch of the road to be closed every weeknight between 8pm and 6am.

The closures started on August 27 and will last for around 11 weeks.

A diversion route will be in place, sending southbound traffic via the A47, A140 and A1066 to rejoin the A11 at the Munford Road roundabout at Thetford.

Northbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
