Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a pitch and putt course in a Norfolk seaside town.

The break-in occurred at the Bure Park Pitch and Putt golf course in Caister Road, Great Yarmouth in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Following the incident, the Great Yarmouth Borough Council, which manages the facility, was forced to close up to clear up the damage caused.

It is now open and back to normal following a clear-up - though nobody has been arrested.

Police have confirmed that high-value equipment was stolen in the raid.

A Norfolk police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Caister Road, Great Yarmouth at 5.43am (Wednesday 28 August 2024) following reports of a burglary at a business premises.

"Officers attended the scene and found that a number of high-value machinery items had been stolen. Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch via 101 or the website, quoting crime reference 36/61300/24."
