A Norfolk boat bedding business inspired by a family who sailed around the world is holding an open day at its Broads showroom this weekend.
Ship Shape Bedding was founded by sailing couple Paul and Angela Hallatt in 2007, who recognised the need for comfortable beds, mattresses and furniture for sailors and motorboaters.
The business has since grown into one of the UK's best selling boat bedding and mattress retailers, also offering upholstery and a range of galleyware.
Mr and Mrs Hallatt, who live in Ludham, retired in 2020, with couple Matt and Danielle Nudd, from Neatishead, taking over the business.
They are hosting an open day at Ship Shape Bedding's new store in Hoveton this Saturday (August 31) - offering free glasses of prosecco.
"It is the biggest customer upholstery showroom within the UK," Amy Cook, of Ship Shape Bedding, said.
"It's a chance for people to come and try our beds and meet the team."
Ship Shape Bedding also has a commercial site in Catfield, near Stalham, and employs eight members of staff.
The open day is taking place at Ship Shape Bedding in Littlewood Lane, Industrial Estate, Hoveton this Saturday from 1pm to 5pm.
