A man has died from a fatal medical episode after an air ambulance arrived at the scene in a village outside the city.
Emergency services were called at 12.45pm yesterday with concerns for the welfare of a man in Fakenham Road, Taverham, near Norwich.
Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
Police were called to assist the ambulance with the emergency at 12.48pm near the Sandy Lane junction along the road.
Just before 1pm an air ambulance landed on Hinks Meadow.
Locals reported seeing ambulance crews heading into a wooded area on the road which had been cordoned off by police.
Witnesses also reported seeing a forensics van in the area at around 3pm.
Officers remained at the scene for several hours.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: " Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
