National Highways has warned of "significant" closures on the A47 due to a £100 million project to dual the Blofield and North Burlingham stretch of the road.

Work began on August 19 and is expected to continue in different phases until 2025 or 2026.

From September 2 to September 20, the road will be blocked overnight between 8pm and 6am from Cucumber Lane to the Acle roundabout.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted along the A47 westbound, A146 southbound, A143 northbound, A47 westbound and back to the Acle roundabout, with westbound traffic following in reverse.

New homeless housing could be coming to a city suburb surrounded by family homes after an application was submitted by St Martins.

The proposed plans are to convert and extend the existing unused space under the St Martins Housing Trust, in Webster Court, into four new ground-floor flats.

Neighbours wishing to comment on the new application have until September 10, with an internal recommendation date by the case officer of October 14.

Motorists are facing almost three months of disruption on the A11 due to road repairs by National Highways between Thickthorn and the Tuttles Lane Interchanges.

The project, estimated to cost £3.5 million, requires the stretch of road to be closed each weeknight between 8pm and 6am from August 27, for around 11 weeks.

A diversion route will be in place, sending southbound traffic via the A47, A140 and A1066 to re-join the A11 at the Munford Road roundabout at Thetford, with northbound traffic following the route in reverse.

Work has begun on building 43 new seafront beach huts along a stretch of the popular promenade close to the Venetian Waterways in Great Yarmouth.

The plans for the renovations were approved in September 2022, with the original hopes for a quick turnaround and opening the following summer.

After a series of delays, the borough council has now announced that the first five huts will be ready before the end of the month.

In September, 33 huts are set to be completed with the final four being finished in October.

They will initially be offered on an annual hire basis from April to March each year costing £2,260 per annum.

Plans to turn a bowling alley on the outskirts of the city into a new Lidl store have been formally lodged with the council.

Investment firm Honeyview Investments has filed a full planning application to Norwich City Council to demolish the Namco Funscape building in Bowthorpe to make way for the supermarket.

The Barnard Road building has been used as a bowling alley since it was built and while it remains open, Namco Funscape's lease runs out in 2027.
