A Norfolk family are featuring in a BBC appeal for national bereavement charity, Sue Ryder.
The McNeill family from King's Lynn experienced a tragic loss when Sarah McNeill's daughter, Laura, unexpectedly passed away in August 2021 at just 25 years old due to a cardiac arrest after a prolonged battle with sepsis.
Overwhelmed by her loss, Sarah discovered the online bereavement services of Sue Ryder which helped her find her footing again.
She said: "You get through those first few weeks. You have the funeral, and everyone is around and then, within a month or so, you are on your own."
"I joined Sue Ryder’s online bereavement community, and it helped to read other people’s stories and connect with people who had lost adult children."
Sarah went on to use Sue Ryder’s online counselling, which made a significant difference in her life.
The BBC Lifeline appeal featuring the Mc Neil family was broadcast on BBC1 on Sunday, with a repeat showing on BBC2 on Friday at 12.50pm.
