People have been warned to expect disruption while traffic lights are replaced on a busy road in Norwich.

The replacement of the puffin crossing in Oak Street, opposite Norfolk Industries, is due to start on August 31.

The project is part of a replacement scheme across Norfolk to update traffic signals to ensure they continue to meet current standards and work reliably.

A temporary crossing will be in place while the existing signals are being replaced.

The work will involve the removal and replacement of the traffic signals with new equipment, including underground ducting and cabling.

A spokesman from Norfolk County Council said: "We thank people for their patience while this traffic signal replacement work is carried out."

The work which will cost £25,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.
