A probe into the death of a "devoted family man" whose scooter was crashed into by a selfie-taking driver has now concluded.

David Sinar died in a crash on the A11 at Roudham almost three years ago - on September 15, 2021.

The 64-year-old was riding a Lambretta scooter along the main road when a car driven by 23-year-old Amber Potter ploughed into the back of his vehicle.

It later emerged that Potter, of Livingstone Road, Norwich, had taken a selfie at the wheel just moments before the fatal incident.

In June, she was jailed after being convicted of causing death by dangerous driving at Norwich Crown Court.

Now, an inquest into the death of the much-loved North Walsham man has been closed after being permanently suspended by senior coroner Jacqueline Lake.

During a short hearing, Mrs Lake confirmed that an inquest did not need to be held because all of the questions it set out to answer had been addressed during the crown court hearing.

Following the conclusion of the crown court case, Mr Sinar's family shared a touching tribute, describing him as "a strong character who never shied away from the challenges that life brought".
