Three kittens that were dumped by the side of a road have been rescued by bin men.

The kittens were found by refuse collector Ryan who discovered them hiding in bushes near the Three Horses Pub in North Cove while on his lunch break.

With help from his East Suffolk Services colleagues Martin and Lee, he managed to catch the little critters and take them to Three Rivers Veterinary Group in Beccles to be checked over and cared for.

Documenting the rescue on Facebook, Ryan said: "Now safe at the vets. I feel much better - I couldn’t just leave them!

"Right, now back to work more bins."

The team at the vets assessed the kittens, concluding that they were likely to have been abandoned rather than feral, and between four to five weeks old.

Veterinary nurse Christina Doutzenberg who works at Three Rivers Veterinary Group has been fostering the kittens since they were brought in on Monday.
