The coastguard, a coastguard helicopter and an RNLI lifeboat helped police in their search for a man in King's Lynn.
Just after 2am on Wednesday, Hunstanton RNLI volunteers were informed emergency services were searching for a man.
It was feared he had entered the Great Ouse River and there was a concern for his safety.
The RNLI launched the inshore Spirit of West Norfolk lifeboat and headed towards the town before checking the river around the Ferry Steps, near the Tuesday Market Place.
The man was found safe and well at an address in the town at 3.25am.
