Police tape remains outside a home in Norwich following a fire. 

Fire crews were called to Walpole Gardens, opposite Chapelfield Gardens, just before 8.30pm on Tuesday. 

They wore breathing apparatus and used main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames until receiving their stop message at 9.19pm.

Police were alerted at 8.42pm and placed a cordon around the scene.

The ambulance service was called but stood down once firefighters confirmed there was nobody in the building.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is unknown but an investigation is ongoing.
