A venue on the north Norfolk coast is set to be transformed into a “lively” sports bar.

Plans have been lodged to turn Bernie’s Bar in East Runton into a friendly venue where everyone is welcome and sports are broadcast seven days a week.

New owners Carl and Katie Stairs have confirmed Bernie’s will reopen as Harry’s after a full refit on April 18 next year.

Harry's will offer live music, quiz nights, bingo and karaoke, with dogs and children welcome to join the fun.

Mr and Mrs Stairs bought the spot last year as part of their mission to revamp the village and create their “own little corner” of it.

They recently rebranded Sammy’s Bar and Grill as a restaurant named The White Horse and have also purchased Will’s Plaice with plans to refurbish it and lease it back to Will.

“We’re thrilled to be able to share our vision for Harry’s Bar and to dispel any rumours that have been circulating,” Mr Stairs said.

“Our goal is to create a lively, friendly sports bar where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy great entertainment, quality drinks and a warm atmosphere.

"We’re looking forward to becoming a cornerstone of the East Runton community.”
