A former nightclub at a historic hotel can be turned into extra rooms.
West Norfolk Council has agreed plans to convert the ground floor space at the Golden Lion in Hunstanton into five bedrooms.
Derrick Lloyd, who also owns the Lodge Hotel at Old Hunstanton and Briarfields Hotel at Titchwell, began refurbishing the 29-bed site after buying it last year.
Work is already under way on a new conservatory at the landmark building on The Green.
The Golden Lion, originally called the New Inn, was built in 1846 from distinctive local carrstone.
It was the first building in what would grow over the decades to become the town of Hunstanton.
Its founder, Henry Le Strange wanted to capitalise on the growing popularity of sea bathing.
