Fire crews teamed up with a local farmer to tackle a field blaze that was spreading to the edge of a road.
Two fire crews, one from Harleston and another from Loddon, were called to Thwaite Road in Mundham at around 3.55pm on Tuesday.
Black smoke was seen rising from the scene as the flames spread across the wheat field.
A section of the field was scorched and a tractor mowed the wheat down in the area to avoid any further damage.

Hose reel jets were used to control the flames and extinguish the fire.
A local who witnessed the blaze believed the cause of the fire was a cigarette that had been thrown out of a car.
"Thanks to the farmer, passers-by and the local fire brigade, disaster was avoided," he said.
